The Winx stamp issue marks the record-breaking 26th consecutive race win by Australian mare Winx, which occurred on 18 August 2018. This is a new Australian record, breaking the 25 wins by Black Caviar, and is second worldwide only to the Hungarian mare Kincesm, which won all of her 54 races in the 1870s. The race in which Winx achieved this miraculous milestone was previously known as the Warwick Stakes, but in 2017 was renamed the Winx Stakes in honour of the champion mare.
